Insect and Plant Observation Stand New
Recommended Age: 3y+
Description
This purpose made outdoor bench is filled with opportunities for the study of living things and will encourage wildlife into your outdoor area. The bench surface is divided into different areas for collections. Small areas for bits of bark, wood shavings, larger areas for pieces of rotting wood from the forest, leaves and so on. There are clear collection bowls to aid the process which can be removed and brought back when filled. A large compartment has a clear lid to contain and view interesting or live specimens. Watching a slug or snail move across the underside of the clear acrylic top is a wonderous thing. At the back of the bench (behind stainless steel mesh) there is an open section, filled with hole-filled wooden tubes, which will attract all kinds of insects. In addition, a clear vertical Perspex vessel provides a space to propagate plants or vegetables or to be used as a wormery. Seeing roots or crops develop or the movement of worms as they burrow is a fascination not to be missed.
