1-10 Odd & Even Numbers Learning Board

A wonderful learning board focussing upon the numbers 1 to 10. When children first learn the names of numbers as they count, they are not fully aware that numbers relate to quantity. As they increase so the quantity increases and as they reduce the quantity drops. This wonderful board reinforces the link between the names of numbers and the quantity using coloured rings on a slider bar as well as with wooden blocks. Using these, children will see the quantity of pieces increase as they count. The set also includes 10 single blocks and 5 double blocks, so children can count-up in ones or twos. Odd and even numbers reveal themselves when using the double blocks 2,4,6,8 and 10, and if a single block is placed in the track first, so do the odd numbers 1,3,5,7, and 9. Children can call these out as they place the pieces. Using linear tracks to reveal a number line, is a great visual way of appreciating ‘number value’. By placing or removing blocks the process of addition and subtraction is visually portrayed. A wonderful and invaluable early numeracy resource.
